1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

We start with one of the highest-rated games, both critically and by the players! Ocarina of Time was a leap to 3D in the saga and innovated in various playable mechanics that many games took advantage of later.

It's a memorable adventure from start to finish, in which Link must travel through time in order to stop Ganondorf.

There is a good variety of temples and dungeons that, to overcome them, you will need to use objects and weapons that you unlock.

It also features side missions, with the most interesting rewards.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time seamlessly combines elements of action, adventure, and puzzle.

For everyone who likes these games and the Link saga, the game was plain and simple a must-have for the collection.

2. Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64, another well-known saga made the leap from 2D to 3D. With the change, it was to be expected that the gameplay would have some modifications, but this installment knew how to keep the essence at 100%. The innovations did nothing but improve the formula of the saga much more.

In Super Mario 64, the player has greater freedom to explore and move around the scene.

Princess Peach is captured in the castle by Bowser and, like Mario, we must recover stars until we face the villain par excellence.

The game knows how to stoke the interest of the player and has a lot of content, and for all these virtues the second position is won.

3. Perfect Dark

Perfect Dark is the perfect shooter (worth the redundancy) game for the Nintendo 64. Stealth is a crucial element to overcome each phase without many problems but, once the situation turns, there is no lack of tools.

The arsenal of weapons is abundant, each with secondary fire modes or with special features.

The story mode is a challenge but the game knows how to measure the difficulty well, giving you freedom of movement and order of completion of objectives.

Beyond the single-player campaign, Perfect Dark includes competitive multiplayer and cooperative options.

Free-for-all mode can be customized to your preference, such as a specific weapon type or scenario.

The cooperative mode, apart from the campaign mode, allows you to fight bots with your friends, in order to overcome challenges.

Whether you choose to play solo or battle with and against your friends, Perfect Dark is a great game!

4. GoldenEye 007

GoldenEye 007 laid the foundation for the great work that is Perfect Dark. For that reason, there is not much to add to what was said with the previous game, but we will say that it is one of the titles that best handles difficulties.

Playing on one difficulty or another does not only imply changes in the damage applied and received. Beyond that, GoldenEye 007 modifies the number of objectives to complete and changes the availability of ammo.

What's more, once you complete the game on the highest difficulty, you have full control over the characteristics of the enemies!

From these details, it's no surprise that GoldenEye 007 is one of the most replayable shooting games of all time.

5. Conker's Bad Fur Day

Conker's Bad Fur Day surprised for the better with its proposal more focused on a larger audience.

In contrast to many Nintendo 64 games, which used to be made for all ages, in this title we find a very thuggish protagonist.

Conker's only job is to get back to his girlfriend, and what a trip that's been!

Conker's Bad Fur Day poses a series of challenges to overcome at each level. There are times when we will have to collect objects and phases with puzzles to solve. There is also no lack of race or boss battles.

Come on, this multiplayer game is very good, with nothing more and nothing less than seven modes in which to destroy your friends.

6. Pokémon Stadium 2

Pokémon Stadium 2 is a game in the franchise that doesn't follow a storyline. Instead, it has before us a series of gyms and tournaments to overcome using the Pokémon we want.

Apart from this, it includes a series of mini-games in which up to four players can participate.

If all you were interested in was getting straight into the action, this game was perfect!

An interesting detail is that Pokémon Stadium 2 was compatible with the Transfer Pak.

That allowed you to use different Pokémon of the Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal editions, among other functionalities.

7. Paper Mario

Unlike the games in the main Mario series, Paper Mario focuses more on RPG elements. The combats take place in turns, with great importance in pressing buttons at the right moment.

Of course, it does not leave behind some aspects of platforms, but it departs a bit from what a Super Mario usually offers.

To rescue Princess Peach, we first need to find the seven Star Spirits. It is not an easy task although, fortunately, we will have the help of characters to overcome puzzles.

With all these innovative elements for the series, Paper Mario was fresh air that many players could enjoy on Nintendo 64.

8. Banjo-Kazooie

We move on to another 3D platformer! Banjo-Kazooie is good-looking to games like Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64, and it is not far behind in quality at all.

This time the player must collect musical notes and puzzle pieces in any order they want. You can jump, climb, swim, and even fly!

In addition to interacting with quite a few characters in Banjo-Kazooie, from time to time we get help from a shaman who will turn us into different creatures.

Sounds crazy, right? And how fun it is! In addition to this game, we make special mention of Banjo-Tooie, a very good sequel that also came out for Nintendo 64.

9. Resident Evil 2

Nintendo 64 is not a console that had numerous survival horror and, therefore, it was appreciated that Resident Evil 2 gave it a visit.

It is a successful survival horror game, in which we control Leon and Claire in order to escape Racoon City. The task is not easy at all, because the zombies do everything possible to surround us and attack us.

An interesting theme of Resident Evil 2 is the scarcity of resources. When one least expects it, the situation can be twisted and, if we do not have enough ammunition or healing items, we will be in a tight spot!

In this sense, the game knows how to maintain tension. Another point in favor is the fact of presenting four scenarios, which are like four campaigns with some differences.

10. Mario Party 2

Any of the three Mario Parties on the Nintendo 64 are fun! Of all of them, 2 is one of the best Mario Party in the entire saga.

The 64 minigames it has are really fun and it is a delight to compete against the AI or against friends.

It is important to perform well in each minigame in order to obtain coins. With them, you can get stars or objects that will help you in the game.

For the solo game, it was not bad at all, but the best thing about Mario Party 2 is the rivalries that are generated between all the players who participate.

11. Jet Force Gemini

Jet Force Gemini is one of the best shooters you can play on the Nintendo 64. You will control three different characters in order to rescue the Tribals and defeat Mizar, a tyrant who seeks to dominate the universe.

The phases are developed without predetermined linearity, being able to explore up to 15 different worlds with different objectives to fulfill.

This game allows you to play cooperatively, although the second player is quite limited in options.

It is also possible to play against each other in Jet Force Gemini through different modes. If the main story is not enough for you, there you have more hours of play!

12. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

Nintendo 64 was a platform that enjoyed good deliveries based on the Star Wars universe. There are the awesome Rogue Squadron and the ones set in Episode I: Racer and Battle for Naboo.

However, in League of Gamers, we want to highlight Shadow of the Empire, an action and adventure game set at the same time as that of Episodes V and VI.

In Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire we handle Dash Randar, a character skilled with the blaster and speeders.

The settings range from Hoth to Mos Eisley and Coruscant, and we will meet well-known characters such as Han Solo, Luke, and Leia.

We will even face off against Boba Fett! Luckily, the game gives us a jetpack so, like Obi-Wan, we will have a height advantage.

13. Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Rayman has always been an entertaining and high-quality saga. Rayman 2 opted for 3D not only for the graphics but as the basis for the playable approach.

The Robots-Pirates are a great threat, so we must help Rayman to stop them and rescue his friends.

At the beginning of the game, Rayman loses his powers. For that reason, Rayman 2 challenges us to recover their powers, solve puzzles, and collect lums to access more levels.

It is a game with good duration, very solid playable speaking, and the story has its funny moments!

14. Wave Race 64

Wave Race 64 is the counterpart to Mario Kart 64, in which we drive jet skis and demonstrate our ability with stunts.

Whether you're playing Championship, Time Trial, or Stunt mode, you must stay on track and do your best to emerge victorious.

Waver Race 64 features four selectable characters, each with their own characteristics. This allows you to adjust your play style a bit, which helps in the face of championship mode.

You can overcome this mode in different difficulties and, as you can imagine, you will have to repeat many circuits to overcome the Expert difficulty!

15. Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber

Ogre Battle 64 is a tactical RPG that puts us in the context of a civil war. The political intrigues are numerous and the enemies grow with each hour of play.

The combats are at least curious since they take place with a very particular version of turns in real-time.

A strong point is that the game ends according to the way you solve the combats and the characters you have recruited, among other details. Therefore, it is an attractive role-playing game to explore.

Unfortunately, it didn't have much of a stock destined for countries outside of Japan, so it didn't become as well known as other games on the list.

16. WWF No Mercy

Wrestling lovers were in luck when WWF No Mercy hit the market. It is a fighting game with many options in-game modes and customization.

In addition to having a good repertoire of movements, WWF No Mercy invites us to participate in seven different stories to win one of the champion titles.

Added to that, WWF No Mercy includes the option to play multiplayer. With modes such as Ladder Match, games with friends are as fun as they are competitive.

17. Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars)

Star Fox 64, also known as Lylat Wars, is a shooting game in which we maneuver three types of vehicles.

We must drive through phases in air, land, and sea, and eliminate the enemies that appear on the screen.

There are levels of the game that are difficult to overcome, but we are not alone!

In Star Fox 64 we will receive the help of some colleagues. Thanks to them, you can get information about bosses or have the option to use alternate routes.

With this and the power-ups, Star Fox 64 knows how to give us enough tools to deal with the threat.

It's a good action game and it's no surprise that it ranks among the best Nintendo 64 games.

18. Blast Corps

Blast Corps is a mix of puzzle-solving, driving, and destruction everywhere, but the most important of all is destruction!

The game challenges you to clear the way so that a vehicle with nuclear missiles can move without colliding with any object.

Despite having a very direct and simple premise, the game gets complicated with each level and becomes a visual spectacle. If you want to get rid of stress, play Blast Corps!

19. F-Zero X

F-Zero X is a good alternative to Mario Kart 64, with faster gameplay and crazier circuits. This installment of F-Zero, in addition to making the leap to 3D, is much more complete than its predecessor.

It has a greater number of vehicles, tracks, and modalities, with the X Cup as the most interesting addition. In that mode, you compete on randomly generated tracks!

20. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Turok 2 is a really fun shooter game. We handle a fairly skilled character, capable of using various weapons and moving with agility.

The second installment, Seeds of Evil, consists of six levels in total, and to unlock them all, you need to collect keys.

In Turok 2, we face a series of creatures inspired by dinosaurs and reptiles. Enemies are everywhere but luckily there is plenty of ammo!

The game was not bad at all both visually and playable, although the presence of the fog did not end with liking.
