The best mechanical keyboards for 2020

After many days of analyzing and comparing various mechanical keyboards, we believe that the  Krom Kernel is the best for the majority, followed by the Anne Pro 2 in case you are looking for something wireless and more compact.

For a few years now, we have been updating this guide, but also analyzing mechanical keyboards from many brands, so we know the current market and also what has changed over the years.

We do not recommend the best-selling keyboards on Amazon as you will see in other guides of "The best keyboards".

We substantiate our choice and we show it to you with our detailed reviews. We always seek to recommend products that are worth buying, so that you are not paying just for the brand, but for the quality of the product.

Anyway, take a look at our recommendations because you will surely find what you need.

Here are the 10 Best Mechanical Keyboards

  1. Krom Kernel
  2. Corsair K63
  3. Anne Pro 2
  4. Logitech G610 Orion
  5. SteelSeries Apex PRO
  6. Drevo Calibur V2
  7. Ozone Alliance
  8. Mars Gaming MK6
  9. Razer Ornata Chroma v
  10. Ozone Double Tap

1. Krom Kernel

Krom Kernel is the best mechanical keyboard we can find for this price. It has a quite nice design, easy to clean and resistant.

One of the things we like the most is that it has RGB lighting, something we don't usually see in mechanical keyboards for less than 59 USD.

The switches it carries are the Outemu, which are not as well known as the Cherry MX, but they do their job well.

We would like it to have less limited customization firmware or macros, but otherwise, it has an excellent value for the money.

2. Corsair K63

If you're looking for a compact mechanical keyboard with good switches, decent but inconspicuous styling, and extra multimedia keys, the K63 is one of the best options on the market.

We have been recommending it for more than 2 years, but it is a fairly complete team and more now that it costs less than 82 USD.

Of course, remember that for this price you will not have some extras, such as the wrist rest, extra USB connection, or RGB lighting, but pulling that, it is a highly recommended TKL keyboard.

3. Anne Pro 2

This Anne Pro 2 is one of the best keyboards you can find for less than 118 USD.

It is a fairly versatile keyboard that you can get in different configurations of switches, but also because you can connect it to the computer via Bluetooth or USB C cable.

You can use it to play, program, work, or whatever, thanks to its customization with macros.

4. Logitech G610 Orion

First of all, we recommend the K66 for those who would like something inconspicuous and without extras, but this Logitech is also an excellent option, not only for its design but for the switches it integrates: Cherry MX Brown.

Unlike the Reds in the K66, these are better for typing. It has the most important multimedia keys and smart lighting that can be customized with Logitech Gaming Software.

5. SteelSeries Apex PRO

SteelSeries is a brand that has always been known for its good design and quality products, but with the Apex Pro, they have achieved something that I have not seen in a long time: innovate.

Not only have they put in a small monitor that you can customize with the brand's software, but they have incorporated, in some keys, customizable actuation switches, which means that you can increase or decrease the actuation force.

You see, if they had done this and forgotten the rest of the keyboard, we wouldn't be calling it the best keyboard on our list.

However, it is that in everything else they also take the crown: BPT keys, volume wheel, wrist rest, extra USB port, floating keys, and an aluminum finish.

Also, if you are looking for a more compact size, you also have its TKL version.

6. Drevo Calibur V2

Drevo Calibur V2 is more than an evolution, it is an alternative to its first version which was wireless.

It is a very cheap keyboard with a compact size that you do not usually find for this price.

Its construction is cheap, but it is up to the task.

7. Ozone Alliance

Ozone Alliance is a keyboard that we have had the opportunity to analyze and that has surprised us with its good build quality and switches.

It's great for typing and gaming, but we would have liked to see an Extra USB or Jack port.

Anyway, for this price, we think it is a very good product.

8. Mars Gaming MK6

For this price, Mars Gaming MK6  is one of the best mechanical keyboards you'll find. Nice design, optomechanical switches, and even a wrist rest.

It is true that the brightness of the keys is not the best and the assembly of the wrist rest can be improved, but for 58 USD we cannot complain.

One of the best points of this keyboard, apart from the optomechanical switches, is the software that it includes as well as the customization since this keyboard is prepared for everything.

In our model, we have specified the brown switches, which are between a blue switch and a network, and are usually the most recommended for writing.

9. Razer Ornata Chroma

It is a keyboard with a mechanical membrane, so the feeling will be the same. Its design is quite identical to that of the other keyboards of the brand and even has a wrist rest and RGB lighting.

This keyboard is extremely comfortable and fits the keyboard gracefully to one magnet.

10. Ozone Double Tap

This is a semi-mechanical keyboard that comes with a mouse. It is a fairly inexpensive pack aimed at all those who need these two components and customizable lighting.

The Ozone Doubletap keyboard has a standard size of 473 x 168 x 39 mm, a weight of 860 grams that does not go out of the norm, and is constructed of resistant plastic in addition to a braided cable terminated in a 1.8 meter gold-plated USB long.

This keyboard has two details that make it a great option to take into account, on the one hand, the semi-mechanical switches and on the other the RGB lighting that is very well polished thanks to its white background.
