1. Attack On Titan (Season 1)

Year:  2013
Studio:  Wit Studio and Production I. G
Episodes:  25 plus 12 (second season broadcast)

It is one of the most popular and recent series of Anime Gore. We put it first due to its excellent plot, character development, and great popularity among anime lovers in general.

Shingeki no Kyojin places you in a world that is haunted by the "Titans", several feet tall beings who eat humans.

Because of this, humanity has created walls around the territory where they live. And not only this, in order to defend themselves against the Titans, they have developed weapons and military personnel specially trained to combat this threat.

2. Kabaneri Of the Iron Fortress

Year:  2016
Studio:  Wit Studio
Episodes:  12

This series was barely released in 2016, but there is no doubt that it is one of the best. Its theme revolves around the zombies or "Kabaneri".

It is a world where a virus has spread that contaminates humans through a bite from the "animal" and turns them into the living dead.

Some are low-class zombies, others are of a higher class. That is, there are some more intelligent than others.

Society has been able to arm itself to combat this indiscriminate wave of monsters. Both weapons and warrior specialists face them.

Also, they have armored the cities with walls and the means of transport have fortified them.

But apparently, there are some who, even if bitten by a zombie ... manage to survive and not convert.

3. "Berserk Golden Age Arc"

Year:  1997 and 2017 (continued)
Studio:  Oriental Light and Magic
Episodes:  Not finished yet

This series is a classic within anime. As old as it is, the plot and characters are very good. Berserk is set in medieval times, where not only humans exist but there are also demons.  That's where Guts, the protagonist, comes in.

This is a very strong mercenary who is dedicated to eradicating these demons from the human world, accompanied only by his giant sword and an annoying elf named Puck.

It is a story of revenge and the epic development of our hero. If you want to enjoy gore anime, you cannot miss Berserk.

4. Shingetsutan Tsukihime

Year:  2003
Studio:  JC Staff
Episodes:  12

Tsukihime is another anime considered a classic. It is a series that I saw a long time ago, but I remember perfectly the plot and the characters.

That is not left by any anime. This one focuses on the life of Shiki, an ordinary young man, except that he possesses the Mystic Eyes of Perception of Death.

With them, Shiki can see the lines of death on objects and people.

Although as long as you wear your glasses, nothing will happen. But if you take them off and can't control yourself ... anything can happen and you'll be smashed (literally) in seconds.

5. Blood +

Year:  2005
Studio:  Production I. G

We already got to the first vampire topic Blood + is about Saya, a young woman who is unknowingly the queen of Chiropterans (vampires), and her past dates back many centuries.

Together with Haji, her knight, and protective chiropter, she must face many challenges and discover who she really is.

6. Tokyo ghoul

Year:  2014
Studio:  Pierrot
Episodes:  12 and 12 plus 2 OVA

This story could be said to be about a species of carnivorous monsters called Ghouls, beings that eat coffee and human flesh.

This anime revolves around the life of Ken Kaneki, a normal and somewhat shy young man.

After he plucks up the courage to ask Rize Kamishiro out, everything seems to be going well. Until, at the end of the date, in a dark alley, Rize attacks him.

Rize turns out to be a Ghoul who tries to eat Ken,  who is saved by a stroke of luck when his attacker falls into some rafters and dies.

The problem is, Ken was seriously injured and Rize's organs are transplanted. Now Ken lives as a half-human and half Ghoul being.

Ganta is blamed for this incident and sentenced to death. They send him, thus, to the same jail that he was going to visit at first. But this is only the beginning.

8. Akame ga Kill!

The problem arises when he realizes the corruption that surrounds the city. So he decides to join Night Raid.

This is the assassination branch of the Revolutionary Army, an uprising assembled to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, who manipulates the young emperor and does what he wants with the people and the Law.

Tatsumi will fight the Empire and come face to face with powerful weapons, enemy assassins, challenges to your own morals and values, and ultimately what it really means to be a killer with a cause.

9. Ninja Scroll (Movie)

Year:  1993
Studio:  Madhouse

This is a movie that falls into our Gore category today. Although if it has an anime series, the film is the one that takes the baton this time.

It is about Jubei Kibagami, who wanders through feudal Japan looking for someone to hire him for his sword skills.

After a past betrayal left him without a master, he no longer wants to have anything to do with warring political factions and their schemes.

Unfortunately, he ventures back into this world when he saves a ninja named Kagero from a man with the ability to make her body as hard as stone.

She is the only survivor of a ninja clan, so she continues the last mission of her team: investigate a mysterious plague that destroyed an entire town.
